For those of you making the tough decision of where to attend college, the University of Baltimore is the place to be. Arnold Blumberg, author of Zombiemania, is teaching a English 333, or as the students are calling it "Zombie 101". The class consists of watching zombie movies and reading zombie comics. Why wasn't college like this when I went?
So, now there's a whole new reason to be scared of Trekkies. The LA Times has an article about Night of the Living Trekkies by authors Kevin David Anderson and Sam Stall. Anyone know the Klingon word for brains?
According to Slashfilm, Director Barry Levinson (Good Morning Vietnam, Rain Man) is currently working on a zombie movie called The Bay.
It appears that they're taking the approach of using "found footage", video from cell phone cameras, 911 tapes, etc. While I personally don't have a problem with this style of movie, I don't know how well camera phones and 911 tapes are going to translate to horror film.
For those of you who haven't seen the trailer yet, AMC has released a trailer for the upcoming The Walking Dead series to be released on Halloween.

If I didn't want to visit New Zealand before, now I want to go just for the Pizza! Hell's Pizza, supposedly devilishly good, is known for it's out of the box marketing, such as giving out condoms to promote the pizza they named "Lust," since they have a pizza for each of the seven deadly sins. Their newest campaign is not only clever, but extremely fun! Remember those choose your own adventure novels when you were a kid? Now you can play a YouTube version with zombies! Will you survive? Good luck!

For those of you Resident Evil fans, there are a couple new trailers over on IMDB. From what I've seen it promises to deliver the same action that has made the series so popular, and on top of that, Afterlife is going to follow the current trend of putting everything in 3-D. We can only hope that they make good use of 3-D, unlike some other movies that have come out recently that were definitely not worth the extra $5 for a pair of crappy glasses.
You can view the trailers here and here.
Zombieland gave us some rules for zombie survival, the first one being doing cardio so you can outrun zombies. Why stop there? People in Chicago have been thinking about that and have started classes for people who want to be in perfect shape for zombie survival! They call themselves ZombieFit with a tag-line, "Fitness to survive the Apocalypse" with detailed fitness journals dating back to September of 2009. They even have online tutorials of how to do survival enhancing workouts, including jumping pull-ups. If you are in the area, you should probably check it out. If not, it makes for an interesting read, and following their ideas and plans won't hurt you when time comes to run, and run fast!
